An essay is presented which focuses on the true meaning of raw materiality of adaptation, which the author built on Simone Murray's book, "The Adaptation Industry." It reflects on Martin Scorses's 2011 adaptation of the film "Hugo," drawing together a range of contemporary adaptation scholarship. It suggests that intermateriality may indeed be a concept of mobilized within the field in the years to come.
